Originally
the outhouse and stables to the main house, Bladebone
Cottage is now a lovely holiday cottage that has been newly decorated and
furnished to a very good standard.
Good kitchen facilities with stylish, country crockery; pretty bedrooms with
quality bed linen and towels. French doors from the sitting room to the
terrace and large, private garden with furniture, a bbq,
ancient apple tree and a summerhouse. A good family cottage; everyone welcome
including pets. Garden toys, games etc available - just ask!
The village amenities are excellent with a well stocked shop/post office, two
local pubs and local transport on both trains and buses. Steeple Aston is
built in a rectangle around a steep valley through which runs a tributary of
the River Cherwell. Steeped in history with a
mention in The Domesday Book of 1086.
In the Cherwell Valley with plenty of footpaths providing access to
beautiful walks and views across the water meadows where the river, the Oxford Canal and the railway come together.
Pretty much midway
between Oxford
(13 miles or so) and Banbury (11 miles) the village is central for all areas
and with The Cotswolds on your doorstep you have it all!
